Bruce Mackay from Mackay Project Management has been the preferred builder for Likweti Bushveld Farm Estate since 2015. We spoke to him about why he loves working with the developers of the estate and why he believes in this development!
Bruce and his wife, Tiffany relocated from Zimbabwe to South Africa in 2007, after which Bruce got involved in construction and project management.
It was after a visit to friends in White River that they started to entertain the idea of moving to the Lowveld. There were a lot of pros for moving their family to White River and in the end, it was the access to world class private schools near White River that was the ultimate deciding factor.
Bruce partnered with a friend and continued his journey in property development specifically spec houses in residential estates. In 2010 an opportunity came along for Bruce to start a new venture on his own and that is how Mackay Project Management was born.
Mackay Project Management’s primary focus is to work with developers to develop residential estates. Bruce has since worked on a number of estates in the Lowveld including Likweti Bushveld Farm Estate.
Bruce was approached by the developers of Likweti Bushveld Farm Estate to come on board as the preferred builder for the estate in 2015 just after development started. Together with a local renowned architect, Reiner Förtsch they put together a design and plan which sold at breaking ground. This concept proceeded to steamroll from one phase to another and after two sold out phases and a recently launched third phase, Bruce and his team has built more than 20 houses on the estate to date.
Estate living is becoming increasingly popular and the desire to own property on these estates is rapidly outgrowing the supply, especially in the Lowveld.
Bruce believes that the success of the development can be attributed to many things including the location and size of the estate, the way the estate has been developed and managed, the security, and the quality of the properties. He believes that buying property at Likweti Bushveld Farm Estate is a good investment, not only because of what the estate offers but because of its location. The mandated estate agents have extensive experience in the area and a thorough understanding of the development. During the buying process future homeowners have the advantage of interacting with Bruce to discuss details like architectural guidelines, building options and stand layout.
It should be reassuring to any future buyers when a builder is vested in a development. He recently put his money where his mouth is and purchased a stand at Likweti Views. Bruce and Tiffany moved into their newly built house in June this year and the couple who are now empty nesters are loving the fact that they have nature on their doorstep.
