This trail is named after the dassie, a small mammal also called a rock rabbit. This trail runs along a very rocky terrain and dassies might be seen as they love sun basking early in the morning or late afternoon on the rocks. The dassie is the closest living relative to the elephant.
On this trail you will find a viewpoint called Sunrise Rock. A breathtaking view, especially worthwhile stopping and staying for a moment to find your breathing space. Spectacular sunrise views for the early birds.
During rainy season you may cross a small water stream.
Take your own water along, there are no water points on route.
Hiking boots or proper running shoes are recommended.
