Since Arbour Week is taking place from 1 to 6 September it is definitely the right time to celebrate our trees and Likweti Bushveld Farm Estate has many to be proud of. With 710hectares of undisturbed natural landscape, Likweti boasts a massive variety of trees including Paperbark Thorn and Marulas in the lower lying grass plains and Lavender Trees (Common Tree of the year for 2014), Lowveld Chestnuts, Wild Teak, Velvet Bushwillows and Common Hook-thorn trees scattered over the rocky granite outcrops. Making Likweti the ultimate place to call home.

Trees play a vital role in the sustainable existence of life on earth. Not only do they absorb carbon dioxide and turn it into oxygen, they are also the only thing standing between us and global warming. Humans simply create too many greenhouse gases which increases the overall average
temperature of our planet. The only way we can offset this is by looking after our trees and by planting more. As an eco-sensitive farm style estate, we are planting twenty hectares of Macadamia orchards. Not only will this subsidise the monthly levy, it will also compliment the green lifestyle at Likweti Bushveld Farm Estate where we pride ourselves on integrating high-end living space with natural surroundings and minimum interference.

Trees also play a very important role in sustaining wildlife and apart from the various species of animals that are dependent on trees for food, we also have some 184 species of birds that will utilise trees for shelter and nesting now that spring is here. There is a complete bird list on our website which is still growing as we spot more birds. By taking care of every vital link in the circle of life at Likweti, we are able to give property owners an authentic natural environment to call home, while still having the convenience of being close to towns, an airport and many modern conveniences and recreational venues.

With all that is ready to blossom and bloom, it is also great to announce that the Likweti Spec House is nearing completion and all those interested can contact Dalene of Fine & Country White River on 082-826-1100 for viewing appointments.
